Connie Araps, Ph.D.
Vice President Operations and Strategic Planning, AssureImmune, Boca Raton, FL
Dr. Connie Araps is the Vice President of Operations and Strategic Planning for AssureImmune. With a Ph.D. in chemistry from Princeton University, Dr. Araps has a broad background managing technology innovation, business growth and acquisition in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical/biotechnology and software industry segments. She has extensive scientific experience and has authored 16 U.S. patents. She led corporate strategic technology planning for IBM and established a new business unit based on the automation of statistically based process optimization and technology transfer. She served as V.P. and CEO of the spin-off from that business—Domain Solutions. Under her leadership the company grew market share aggressively worldwide and was acquired by a Fortune 1000 company.

Mark Baily, B.Sc., M.D.C.M., DAAPM

Dr. Mark Baily is a Certified Instructor in both Canada and the United States for Botox and Juvederm (Allergan) and Restylane (Medicis). Dr. Baily has personally trained over 300 doctors in the use of Botox and facial fillers. He has been the largest provider of Botox in Canada for the past five years as well as being one of the largest users of Restylane and Perlane. The Allergan Botox Cosmetic website rates Dr. Baily as the top Botox injector in Ontario. As Medical Director for the largest chain of medical spas in North America, he trained and supervised their physicians and nurses as injectors in addition to injecting patients. His “hands-on” training program is regarded as the premier course of its kind by Allergan and Medicis, having certified hundreds of doctors in both the cosmetic and therapeutic uses of Botox, and the basic and advanced uses of facial fillers and mesotherapy. In 2007, Dr. Baily’s Botox and Filler training programs merged with KAPPS Professional Services. Dr. Baily is a Member of the Board of the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine, and has lectured extensively across North America. He is also a regular contributor to the magazine Spa Canada.


Harvey Bartnof, M.D.

Harvey S. Bartnof, M.D. is Founder and Medical Director of California Longevity and Vitality Medical Institute® in San Francisco, California. He is a graduate of University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF), where he achieved Honors in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Clinical Pharmacology, and Otolaryngology. His training in Internal Medicine was at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA. Subsequently at UCSF, he was a member of the Clinical Faculty in the Department of Medicine from 1985-1992. From 2002-2004, he completed an Independent Fellowship in Endocrinology of Aging and Preventive Gerontology. Starting in 2004, Dr. Bartnof has hosted an Internet Radio show on www.voiceamerica.com called, “Age Management Medicine in the 21st Century.” He is a member in good standing of the Endocrine Society, Bio-Identical Hormone Society and Age Management Medicine Group. Dr. Bartnof is also Visiting Professor of Medicine at Liaoning Medical College and Shenyang Medical College in China, where he was an invited Speaker at the 1st and 2nd International Asian Conferences on Anti-Aging Medicine in 2006 and 2007. He has been awarded “Best of San Francisco 2008” in the Physicians & Surgeons category by the US Local Business Association. Dr. Bartnof practices full-time Age Management Medicine in San Francisco. Jennifer Berman, M.D.

Dr. Jennifer Berman is a urologist with specialized training in Female Urology and Female Sexual Medicine. Dr. Berman received her Master of Science degree from the University of Maryland Medical Center and her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her post-graduate urology residency training at the University of Maryland, and received specialized fellowship training in Female Urology and Female Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA Medical Center. One of only a few female urologists in the nation, Dr. Berman co-founded the Female Sexual Medicine Center at UCLA in 2001, and currently serves as Director. She is also an Assistant Professor of Urology at the UCLA Medical Center. In April 1998, Dr. Berman was awarded a two-year research grant from the American Foundation for Urologic Disease (AFUD) to perform basic science and clinical research in the physiology of female sexual function and dysfunction. The focus of her research and expertise is on physiologic evaluation of the female sexual response and the medical therapies for female sexual function complaints. Dr. Berman was also awarded the Pfizer Scholar in Urology award two consecutive years for her research and received recognition and awards at local, national, as well as international scientific meetings. She has written numerous publications for peer review journals as well as several chapters on Female Sexual Dysfunction. Dr. Berman is on the editorial board of Healthgate Inc. and Sexual Health Capsule and Comment (McGraw-Hill) and is a reviewer for the Journal of Urology, and Fertility and Sterility. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Urological Association, the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, and the Society for the Study of Impotence Research. Dr. Berman is involved as a consultant and investigator for numerous pharmaceutical companies that are developing therapies for female sexual dysfunction and also continues to conduct academic clinical trials in this area.


Charles Bernick, M.D.

A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Bernick graduated summa cum laude from Rice University in Houston with a degree in history. He received his M.D. degree at the University of Texas Southwestern, where he was elected to the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Bernick completed a neurology residency at the University of Miami, with additional fellowship training in neurology at the University of Arizona. Dr. Bernick has been involved in the field of Alzheimer’s Disease for close to 20 years, beginning as attending neurologist at the University of California, Davis Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnostic and Treatment Center. Dr. Bernick moved to Las Vegas in 1994 to join the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Over the subsequent years, he has directed the development of a statewide network for Alzheimer’s care, including clinics in Las Vegas, Reno and Elko. Along with co-authoring numerous articles, Dr. Bernick has participated in studies leading to the release of virtually every medication now available for Alzheimer’s Disease. He has participated in a number of national organizations including the Alzheimer’s Association, where he served as a grant reviewer, national committee member, and member of the Desert Southwest chapter’s Medical and Scientific Committee.

David Brownstein, M.D.

David Brownstein, M.D. is a family physician and is one of the foremost practitioners of holistic medicine. He is the Medical Director of the Center for Holistic Medicine in West Bloomfield, MI. Dr. Brownstein has lectured internationally to physicians and others about his success in using natural hormones and nutritional therapies in his practice. Dr. Brownstein specializes in the use of vitamins, minerals, herbs and natural hormones. He is the author of six books: Overcoming Arthritis; The Miracle of Natural Hormones 3rd Edition; Overcoming Thyroid Disorders; Iodine:  Why You Need It, Why You Can't Live Without It, 2nd Edition; Salt: Your Way to Health; and The Guide to Healthy Eating. Anna M. Cabeca, D.O., FACOG

Dr. Anna Cabeca is a board certified Gynecologist & Obstetrician with an integrative medicine practice in Georgia. She is an expert in women’s health and specializes in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and natural alternatives, successful menopause, age management medicine, reproductive health and helping patients prepare for pregnancy and combat infertility issues. Her belief is that the advantages of creating health and hormone balance are that we not only improve our own health but also improve the health of the generations to follow. L. Stephen Coles, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Coles has been involved in various aspects of Age Management Medicine for over 40 years. He received his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, his Masters Degree in Mathematics from The Carnegie Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. in Systems and Communications Sciences from Carnegie-Mellon University. After attending medical school at Stanford University, he completed his Clinical Internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Coles has taught at a number of well-known universities throughout the country, including Stanford, UC Berkeley, University of Miami, University of Maryland, UCLA, USC, Cal Tech, and UCSD. Dr. Coles is also the Director of the Los Angeles Gerontology Research Group, which he and three other scientists co-founded in the fall of 1990. The Group currently meets on a monthly basis at the UCLA Medical School to hear scientific experts present the latest information on either theoretical or clinical aspects of Age Management Medicine. Over the years the LA-GRG has grown to over 120 members with more than half having advanced degrees (M.D.'s and Ph.D.'s). Most recently Dr. Coles was a founding member and named Director of the Supercentenarian Research Foundation.


Derrick M. DeSilva, Jr., M.D.

Dr. DeSilva is a practicing Internist at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, NJ. As an adjunct professor at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ, he has lectured on various topics in medicine, nationally and internationally, and is an avid member of The American Medical Association, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, and Society of Internal Medicine, as well as president of the American Nutraceutical Association and vice president of Medical Spa Professional Alliance. Dr. DeSilva has authored and published “Coping with Lyme Disease” and “Ask the Doctor.” He has his own radio talk show, "Ask the Doctor" which airs on WCTC Radio in New Jersey (1450 AM), as well as his own television show, "Your Natural Health” on News 12 New Jersey. In addition to local broadcasting, he has attained national television exposure by hosting medical segments on CNN and appearing as a guest on numerous programs, including ABC Night Line. Dr. DeSilva has been instrumental in the formulation of over 100 different natural products.

Jay J. Garcia, M.D.

Dr. Garcia, a board certified physician in women's health, has lived and practiced for more than 30 years in the Tampa Bay area. During this period he observed that there was an overwhelming relationship between women suffering from the symptoms of hormonal imbalances and the ability to lose weight. In the course of evaluating, treating, and managing these imbalances he found that hormonal replacement therapy needed to be partnered with lifestyle, nutritional and exercise counseling. Realizing that obesity had become a national epidemic, affecting not only women but men and adolescents equally, Dr. Garcia felt he needed to expand the scope of his practice to include researching all the contributing factors leading to obesity and to focus on the diseases' prevention and on wellness.


Enrique Ginzburg, M.D.

Dr. Enrique Ginzburg received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the Vascular Surgeons of Central Ohio and a Residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Ginzburg is currently Professor of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine; Medical Director, International Health Center; and Co-Director, Neuroscience Intensive Care.  In addition, Dr. Ginzburg holds secondary appointments as Attending Surgeon/Physician of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at Jackson Memorial Medical Center, Attending Staff Surgeon and Surgical Consultant at the VA Hospital and Attending Surgeon at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Ginzburg was the coordinator of the affiliation between the University of Miami and the University of Tel Aviv. He was also the founding coordinator of the Trauma Training Program for the Middle East, the program responsible for training the current Directors of Trauma at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem and at Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in Tel Aviv, as well as the future Leader of Trauma for Lebanon. Dr. Ginzburg has been published extensively on a variety of topics in journals such as American Surgery, Journal of American College of Surgery, and Journal of Trauma. Dr. Ginzburg is also an active member of various professional organizations such as American Association for the Surgery of Trauma and American College of Surgeons.


Paul Hueseman, Pharm. D.

Dr. Paul Hueseman is primarily responsible for clinical programs and business operations at Bellevue Pharmacy Solutions. Dr. Hueseman is a graduate of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy where he completed a Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy and the Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Dr. Hueseman has a wide array of experience that includes retail pharmacy, clinical practice in pediatrics, account management and clinical expertise in managed care for a major pharmaceutical company. He also has experience in bioidentical hormone compounding, from previous work at Bajamar Women's Healthcare. Dr. Hueseman is an expert in clinical assessment, disease management, and patient consultation, and a member of Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), Missouri Pharmacy Association (MPA), St Louis Pharmacists Association (StLPA), National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), American Diabetes Association (ADA), St Louis Asthma Consortium, and American Association of Diabetic Educators (AADE).

Robert P.K. Keller, M.D.

Jennifer Krup, M.D.

Jennifer Krup is a certified specialist on hormone replacement and a family physician in Virginia Beach, VA. Prior to becoming a specialist in hormone replacement, Dr. Krup practiced emergency and family medicine. In 2000, Dr. Krup was invited to London, England to open the UK's first Anti-Aging Center, HB Health. After the successful launch of HB Health, Dr. Krup returned home to open RejuvinAge in 2001. Dr. Krup has successfully treated more than 1,000 patients for hormone replacement. Jeffry S. Life, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Life is a course co-director and faculty member for Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation (CERF). He also is a senior institute physician at the Cenegenics Medical Institute. Dr. Life has completed Physician Training & Certification in Age Management Medicine, jointly sponsored by CERF and the Foundation for Care Management (FCM). Dr. Life is board-certified in family medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Iowa, Dr. Life completed his residency in family medicine and internal medicine at West Virginia University. He also attained a Ph.D. in environmental sciences and health. Throughout his career, Dr. Life was a full-time family physician and a part-time assistant professor at Marywood University in Pennsylvania, teaching graduate courses in nutritional science and exercise physiology. In 1998, after reaching a lifetime high in body weight, percentage of body fat and level of deconditioning, Dr. Life entered EAS National Body-for-LIFE Challenge, at age 60. He won the contest and became a Grand Champion. Dr. Life continues to live a lifestyle promoting health and fitness. He wrote a chapter on “Exercise, Fitness and Lifestyle” for a popular medical textbook, published 2002. Currently, he is completing a Masters of Science program in sports nutrition and exercise science, while working on an upcoming book.

Sheila Malmanis, L.E.

Sheila Malmanis is a licensed aesthetician and CEO of MS Skintechnical, Inc., based in Phoenix, AZ. A nurse prior to her involvement in aesthetics, she was a vice president in sales and marketing with another skin care company before starting her own company in 2000. She has been in marketing and sales for more than 20 years, and has been published in Aesthetic Medicine magazine in the U.K. and Healthy Aging magazine in the U.S. Ms. Malmanis works with only the most clinically and technically advanced chemists globally and has developed her own skin care line.  

Denise Mark, M.D.

Denise R. Mark, M.D., is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. She earned her medical degree and completed her residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Mark specializes in integrative internal medicine focusing on neuroendocrine balancing, using bio-identical hormones and targeted nutritional therapy. She also uses nutritional and preventive medicine to address metabolic syndrome, menopause, andropause and thyroid/adrenal imbalances for men and women. She has been in private practice since 1987 and is the Director at Monterey Bay Wellness in Carmel, California. She is also the Medical Director for Sanesco International, Inc. Dr. Mark holds memberships in the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) and the American College for the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM). She has been on the Board of Directors of ACAM since 1995. Dr. Mark is a popular speaker and has presented before professional groups and appeared on radio and television programs to discuss integrative medicine, neuroendocrine balancing, bio-identical hormones, insulin resistance and preventive wellness.

George R. Merriam, M.D.

George Merriam is a physician and Deputy Director for research at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, and Professor of Medicine and director of the neuroendocrine-pituitary clinic at the University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Harvard and Cambridge Universities and of Harvard Medical School. After a residency in medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and an endocrine fellowship in the NIH Inter-Institute endocrine program, he became head of the neuroendocrine and reproductive endocrine units at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development at NIH before moving to UW. With a particular interest in neuroendocrinology, reproductive endocrinology, and endocrine aging, he is on the faculty of both the endocrine and geriatrics fellowship training programs. Dr. Merriam is the author of more than 300 original articles, books, chapters, reviews, and abstracts, and his study of episodic hormone secretion has become a “citation classic” and been cited as one of 100 “Classic Papers” by the American Journal of Physiology. He is an officer of the American Neuroendocrine Society and member of the editorial board of Frontiers in Neuroendocrinology. He is a member of the Endocrine Society Performance Measures Subcommittee and of the Society’s working group on clinical guidelines for evaluation and treatment of adult growth hormone deficiency. He has been elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Western Association of Physicians.

Stephen D. Nugent, N.M.D., Ph.D., PDD, CNC

Dr. Stephen D. Nugent is the Executive Director of Complementary Health and Education for Mannatech, Inc. He has earned six degrees, graduating with honors at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He pursued evening courses at National University’s San Diego and Vista campuses while serving as a U.S. Marine. Dr. Nugent obtained his doctor of naturopathic medicine degree as well as a Ph.D. in psychology from Clayton University in Missouri. He enrolled in a Professional Development Degree (P.D.D.) program at the University of Michigan’s Dearborn campus and graduated with top honors. Dr. Nugent is the current President of the International Association of Complementary Medicine as well as the President Emeritus of the American Naturopathic Medical Association. He is considered an expert in the therapeutic use of dietary supplements.

Marie Piantino, L.E.

Marie Piantino, a European trained Medical Aesthetician, has over 20 years of experience to share. Ms. Piantino is president and co-owner of MS Skintechnical, based in Phoenix, AZ. Her vast knowledge and expertise has allowed her to be published in and serve on the advisory board of Healthy Aging magazine, as well as lecture at some of the world’s most sought-after events. She was a former vice president in sales and education with another skin care company, prior to starting her own company in 2000. With the vast changes that have taken place in the skin care industry, it’s now the advanced aesthetician who needs to understand the different types of procedures being performed today, as well as the correct pre- and post- protocols to finalize the program; it is not enough merely to know how to do microdermabrasion or peels and facials. Ms. Piantino is recognized as one of the best educators with her audiences, whether she is educating the physician or the recently graduated aesthetician.

Russell R. Roby, M.D.
Founder, Roby Institute, Austin, TX
Dr. Roby has been practicing in the fields of allergy and immunology for over thirty years. He concentrates on Complementary and Alternative methods and has been doing research in several areas during this time. His practice specializes in hormone imbalances, particularly progesterone mediated hypersensitivity. Along with health directed protocols, this research has led to several innovative solutions for old problems. He has been granted patents for the treatment of asthma and pain using sublingual dilutions of progesterone. Research by Dr. Roby and his associates is underway in Mumbai, India, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and at the University of Texas in Austin, as well as at Harvard University. Prevention and treatment of breast cancer is one of the most recent research protocols begun by the Roby Institute and its associates.

Peter D. Rumm, M.D., MPH, FACPM
Deputy Director, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Washington, D.C. (Center for Devices and Radiological Health; Office of Device Evaluation; Division of General, Restorative and Neurological Devices)

Dr. Rumm is a deputy director of a division of the FDA that clears medical devices. He has also worked in state health as a chief medical officer for chronic diseases and health promotion; as a senior public health leader in the military; and served as Director of the Center for Public Health Readiness and Communication and an Associate Professor at Drexel School of Public Health, dealing with communication and preparedness. Dr. Rumm has served as an advisor on men’s health issues, and on a number of national public health boards, and is currently working one day a week for the Office of the Surgeon General as an advisor/editor to publications from that office.

Al C. Sears, M.D.

Dr. Sears specializes in natural health maintenance, men’s health and anti-aging medicine. He owns and operates a successful wellness center in south Florida with over 10,000 patients. He combines modern medicine with nutrition, herbology, exercise physiology and sports training to create his unique natural treatment programs. Dr. Sears has authored numerous articles and reports in the fields of men’s health and nutritional supplementation, and he has co-authored a book entitled 21st Century Men’s Guide To Prostate Health on nutritional solutions to diseases of the prostate. His most recent book, The T-Factor, details nutritional and herbal strategies for increasing testosterone naturally. Dr. Sears is the founder and director of The Wellness Research Foundation. His practice houses “The McCormick-Green Center for Integrative Therapies” a nonprofit charity devoted to research and education to the public and other physicians. He serves as medical director of that charity. Also maintained at his practice is an herbal apothecary of over 250 organic herbs used for research, education and treatments. Dr. Sears is the author and editor of Health Confidential For Men, a national newsletter presenting the latest discoveries in natural health. Dr. Sears has also been appointed to the international panel of experts for Health Sciences Institute, a worldwide consulting service for integrative healthcare. He is an adjunct professor at Barry University where he teaches courses in human anatomy, physiology and nutrition. Ron Shane, Ph.D.

Ron Shane, Ph.D., is currently a research scholar at U.C. San Diego, working in the field of neuroendocrinology and optimal physiology. Dr. Shane received his master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He works as a medical consultant in endocrinology, non-surgical body sculpturing and skin rejuvenation in San Diego. Dr. Shane is a multi-discipline Ph.D. and doctor of oriental medicine and has completed post-doctoral training in the disciplines of renaissance mysticism, neurobiology, psychiatry, neuroscience, internal medicine, oriental medicine and cross cultural shamanism. He is a certified master of Kundalini Yoga, an ITF international instructor and an expert sixth degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do; and is a core faculty member of the International Toaist University of Oriental Medicine. Dr. Shane is a former college strength and fitness coach and he has written many books and articles on martial arts, Taoism, Esoteric Yoga, Cross training regimes, Energy medicine, endocrinology, age management and cosmetic medicine, neuroscience, optimal health and oriental medicine. This master of health has focused his career on aesthetically and physiologically enhancing the body and essence of others. Dr. Shane regularly contributes feature articles to Tae Kwon Do Times, the e-Journal of Age Management Medicine and other publications. He has given medical lectures throughout the country, has been involved in cosmetic dermatological laser research and is the producer and director of the Zen Beauty TV program.

Graham Simpson, M.D.

Dr. Graham D. Simpson is board certified in internal and emergency medicine.  He has completed Physician Training & Certification in Age Management Medicine, jointly sponsored by Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation (CERF) and the Foundation for Care Management (FCM). Dr. Simpson earned a bachelor of medicine and surgery degree from the University of Witwaterstrand in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1975. The following year, he completed his internship in internal medicine and obstetrics/gynecology at Baragwanth Hospital, also in Johannesburg. In 1977, Dr. Simpson completed his pediatrics residency at the Berkshire Medical Center in Berkshire, Maine. He went on to complete an emergency medicine residency in 1981 and an internal medicine residency in 1983, both at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Simpson began his career in emergency medicine at University Medical Center. In 1984, he became an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Reno, Division of Family Medicine in Reno, Nevada. Dr. Simpson spent the following ten years in private practice (internal medicine) in Reno, then practiced emergency medicine at the Northern Nevada Medical Center for the next five years. Then in 1999, he moved to Anguilla, British West Indies, where he had a private practice specializing in internal and age management medicine. He moved back to Reno in 2002 to establish the Ageless Zone Medical Spa. In 2006, he joined St. Mary’s Wellness Center. Dr. Simpson is a well-known lecturer, consultant and author. He wrote many books including: The Wellness Game, Eternity Medicine: Remembering the Future, Spa Medicine (with Dr. Stephen Sinatra) and The Inflam-Aging Nation and Its Consumer Driven Care. Dr. Simpson is married and the father of three children.

William J. Stilling, R.Ph., M.S., J.D.

Mr. Stilling chairs the Health and Life Sciences Practice Group at the law firm Parsons, Behle & Latimer, which has offices in Salt Lake City, Utah and Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. He is also an associate professor (clinical) in the Department of Pharmacotherapy at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, where he has taught courses in drug and pharmacy law and ethics for some twenty years. Mr. Stilling graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in pharmacy, a master’s degree in pharmacy administration, and, eventually, a law degree. He is licensed as a pharmacist and a licensed patent attorney. His law practice focuses on health care law, drug and medical device law, dietary supplements, intellectual property, professional licensing, privacy law and complex commercial litigation. He formerly chaired the Utah State Bar Legal Medical Committee. Among other groups, he is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Society of Pharmacy Law, and the American Pharmaceutical Association. Mr. Stilling speaks regularly on medical, legal and life sciences issues. Most recently, he presented a paper at Duquesne University entitled Is There a Right to Be the Best We Can Be: Toward an Ethical Paradigm for Pharmacological Enhancement of the Mind.

Robert J. Troell, M.D., FACS

Born and raised in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Cicely Valenti grew up with a love for all things outdoor: running, biking, wakeboarding, swimming, skiing, hiking, camping, etc. Pursuing her passion for vitality through education, she attended the University of Nevada, Reno to study Health Ecology, Pre-Medicine, and Business Administration. While in attendance, Cicely maintained her passion for health by competing on the cross-country team and the triathlon team. JJ Virgin is a UCLA graduate. Ronald Wheeler, M.D.

Dr. Wheeler received his medical degree from the University of Guadalajara in 1979. He was president of the Fifth Pathway Program representing the state of New Jersey in concert with Rutgers University Medical School from 1979 to 1980. He performed his internship at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio from 1980 to 1981. His urology residency began at Akron and was completed at the LSU Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1985. Dr. Wheeler is licensed in both Colorado and Florida. Remaining active in the medical community, Dr. Wheeler has been a speaker at several prostate cancer support and awareness groups. David T. Wong, D.M.D., D.M.Sc.

Dr. David Wong is the Associate Dean of Research and a Professor in the Division of Oral Biology and Medicine at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He was a graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia in 1981 and then did his graduate training in molecular biology at Harvard University together with a clinical training in oral pathology. Dr. Wong began his career at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he held the rank of assistant professor followed by associate professorship and head of the Division of Oral Pathology from 1992 to 2001. In 2002, he joined the UCLA School of Dentistry as Professor and Director of the Dental Research Institute. On January 1, 2003, he was named Chair of the Division of Oral Biology and Medicine, one of the six academic divisions at the UCLA School of Dentistry. On January 1, 2005, he was named Associate Dean of Research for the UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Wong is a dentist-scientist focusing his research on the molecular determinants (genomic and proteomic) of head and neck cancer. His research has been continuously funded by the NIDCR and NCI for the past 18 years. An exciting recent effort are two (2), 4-year award U01 awards from the NIDCR for the creation of the UCLA Collaborative Oral Fluid Diagnostic Research Center and the Human Salivary Proteome project, whereby nano-technology-based microsensors “lab on a chip” will be developed for translational applications for molecular diagnostics for oral cancer and oral pathogens based on oral fluids (saliva). The Human Salivary Proteome project is to decipher the entire catalogue of proteins in human saliva. Dr. Wong is intimately involved with the research training and career development of dentist-scientists and oral health researchers. He was the program director of the Harvard Institutional Dentist Scientist Program from 1994 to 2001. He has trained over 40 dentist scientists and graduate students. He is the Director of the Oral Biology Graduate Program at UCLA which includes a Short-Term Training Program, a Ph.D. Track, a Masters Degree in Clinical Research, the dual degree D.D.S./Ph.D. program and the advanced clinical training/Ph.D. track. He is also the Program Director of the recently funded “UCLA Fundamental Clinical Research Training Program,” a 5-year comprehensive research-training program funded by the NIDCR. Dr. Wong is the current Chair of the NIDCR Special Grant Review Committee.

Israel Yoles, M.D.

Dr. Yoles is a gynecologist who practices in Israel.
